Started by Frenchman René Cléon after his time as a P.O.W in 1945, in the tiny town of La Romagne. Later in the 1980's, sons Jacques and Louis-Marie took up the helm and diversifed the old models into more contemporary styles and uses. After securing contracts for the french Railway Company, then Air France, Customs and the Army, the shoes became known for their utilitarian sturdiness, used by individuals who regularly put them through their paces day after day after day. And this is where we find them today, producing models that transgress the history and straddling both working and casual life.
